50 Young Women Rise: WIGOI Program Cohort 2024 Graduation
We are proud to celebrate the graduation of 50 young women under our Women Income Generation Opportunities Initiative (WIGOI), a transformative 2-year educational program in partnership with Siemens Stiftung. This initiative is dedicated to nurturing young and underprivileged women, including persons with disabilities (PWDs) and refugees in Uganda, by equipping them with essential vocational and career skills to secure a sustainable future.
A key highlight of the event was the awarding of seed capital to outstanding participants in various categories, including Best Innovative Idea, Sustainability & Scalability, and Outstanding Apprentice. These awards recognize the dedication, creativity, and resilience of the graduates, who truly embody the spirit of innovation and impact in their respective fields.

The event also provided a platform for the young women to exhibit their products, showcasing the skills and knowledge they have acquired throughout the program. Each graduate was awarded a certificate, symbolizing their hard work, perseverance, and readiness to enter the workforce or launch their own enterprises.

One of the participants receives a certificate from (L) Ms. Caroline Benda representing Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, (R) Ms. Monica Basemera, Head of programme coordination unit, Team Up.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished guests, including Ms. Caroline R. Benda, representing the Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, as well as Monica Basemera, Head of the Programme Coordination Unit at Team Up. We also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our associates and all partners who made this milestone possible. Your unwavering support continues to inspire and drive meaningful change in the lives of these young women.
As we celebrate this significant achievement, we are excited to welcome WIGOI cohort 2025 who will continue to transform their futures and communities.
