The Social Entrepreneurship Give- Back Breakfast Meeting
On 21st December, 2022 we organized the Social Entrepreneurship Give- Back Breakfast Meeting for the social entrepreneurs in the Social Entrepreneurship Forum (SEF) at Royal Suites Hotel in Bugolobi to support them in creating more opportunities, partnerships, exploring the endless possibilities of doing business for the greater good & gain more knowledge in overcoming the social challenges in our communities in Uganda.

The goal for this breakfast meeting was to give back and catch up with the Social Entrepreneurs while giving them an opportunity to network with like-minded successful entrepreneurs and be motivated by our high-profile speakers in a relaxed and warm setting.
During the event, the opening remarks were given by Dr. Joyce N Tamale (FCCA) Co-Founder & CEO of Capital Solutions Ltd who congratulated the Social Entrepreneurship Forum members for building business models that are combined with mission and dedication to serve the marginalized populations with business principles and the private sectors.

The significant event was comprised of inspirational talks, testimonials by successful entrepreneurs and round table discussions where the CEOs were given a chance to discuss and share different perspectives and ideas regarding risks, best practices to creatively manage and grow their finances, tips for networking and remaining sustainable while running a social enterprise.
It was attended by distinguished guests such as Richard Tugume Tulyahikayo, Country Director Global Yunus Social business and Jackie Namara Rukare – Chartered Marketer, FCIM who are passionately supporting social entrepreneurs in their social entrepreneurship journey in Africa.
The event later concluded with the issuing of certificates and end of year gift items for the Social Entrepreneurship Forum members.
The Social Entrepreneurship Forum (SEF) is an indigenous membership forum that has brought together over 200 social Entrepreneurs in sectors of Education, health, Agriculture, Tourism and hospitality, Energy, Fashion, among others in Uganda and Africa at large into a space where they can network, get business referrals and push for a common goal. The businesses are largely micro and small social enterprises who are innovatively solving community challenges in low-income communities within Uganda.
We acknowledge that in Uganda, this category of entrepreneurs contributes close to 90% of private sector production and play a crucial role in income generation, especially for the poor and provides employment to over 2.5 million people. Despite the significant contribution by this category of entrepreneurs, the business mortality rate is very high as majority close down before completing a year in operation. As the failure rate of SMEs in Uganda continues to rise, the Social Entrepreneurship Forum is timely as it brings them together to enable them scale.
